Hyperloop's Superiority as Compared to Airline Jet Travel

High speed rail and the vacuum tube magnetic levitation transportation systems do not need to rely on any navigation at all. You can't get lost. The routes are predetermined. The stops are known. Weather doesn't affect travel. Volcanic eruptions don't affect travel. Floods won't affect travel, if tracks or the tube is elevated high enough. These systems can even be made earthquake proof. High enough the concrete pylons even protect the system from wild fires. Why the wait?

Air travel can be disrupted by drones, weather and volcanic eruptions. Weather systems are getting increasingly volatile due to climate change. Planes are often delayed for days, leaving passengers stranded. The economic losses undergone by airlines, airport operators and passengers associated with disruptions and interruptions had an estimated loss of $26.6 billion in 2017... in the United States alone. USA is 16% of the global economy, thus the real economic loss can be extrapolated to be $166 billion from air travel disruptions alone, something that hyperloop systems will not exhibit.

This $166 billion is money that was NOT spent by world's consumers, because it was never generated as economic wealth thus further undermining global economic growth as compared to a hyperloop system that could carry a similar number of passengers. Then, there are fatalities associated with air crashes, lost aircraft, accidents and other such things. Even though airliner safety has improved consistently since 1970, fatalities ranged in 2 to 3 thousand deaths per year, and even in the 2000's they average 1,000 deaths per year, not counting terrorism and intentional shooting down of civilian airplanes. Then there are injuries. Note for instance that 1,500 air accident fatalities do not include the terrorist attacks that brought down several aircraft in 2001 to use them as a weapon, nor did they include the fatalities the airplanes caused on the ground because the event were not accidental. You can't use the hyperloop as a weapon or crash it with road traffic like trains do.

Unlike cargo aviation, the hyperloop system does not need to move an entire airplane into the air, having a base cost of just lying the airplane. Unlike cargo aviation, the hyperloop system does not need to be manned during travel, so there is no labor cost associated with moving the cargo pods. Unlike cargo aviation, the hyperloop system can keep supply lines flowing without disruptions and the cost is fixed, with economies of scale reducing cost of delivery as the system is used more frequently, air freight has a fixed cost because of fuel, cost piloting crew and the mass of the airplane that does not offer the same benefits. A hyperloop cargo system beats conventional rail, shipping and air cargo in speed, safety and manpower required to operate it. It is faster, safer and cheaper than all other options. The same goes for inter city mail hyperloop system of smaller cross section to deliver smaller sized items. Cargo in the hyperloop can't crash out of the sky, sink to the bottom of the sea or be engulfed in an inferno as a train crashed into a stalled truck or is derailed for any reason.

Hyperloop is better in every way imaginable, which is why I came up with it in the first place. It's what I do. About the only thing that ships and airplanes can do that hyperloop can't, is travel directly between ports without the need for any infrastructure which does not limit where they can go. Initially hyperloop systems will not have that universality in capability as their network needs to grow in size in complexity as to railway system which as still developing across much of the world, which means this is not a disruptive technology. Hyperloop's infrastructure will span its web over the entire planet, and when it does, port to port delivery will even eliminate that last advantage airplanes and ships have.

A power outage is about the only external event that could cause a hazardous condition inside the hyperloop system. For cargo, it simply means that cargo will temporarily stop, until power is restored. Hyperloop pods can have battery power to run on their own in case of such emergency, delivering the contents of the pods to the closest station. The system runs on electricity, which means it can be energy self sufficient if the top of the tube is covered in solar PV paneling. Excess power it generates can be sold to the grid, and in case of higher hyperloop usage, power can be purchased into the system which too can come from renewable sources. It has virtually no carbon footprint to operate  as compared to air, road and marine travel and cargo shipping. This means the hyperloop will save even more lives, money and keep the world economy growing, without pushing it against the Earth's boundaries.

In case that the hyperloop system fails to maintain the atmosphere within the pod for human passengers, the pod can be slowed and the vacuum of the tube filled with breathable air by simply opening an air lock; a cargo hyperloop does face only the unlikely issue of product decompression. Properly designed and maintained, the hyperloop passenger and cargo systems will beat any other form of transportation. Finally, this is the only system which can provide viable high velocity, electricity ran, transportation on the Moon and Mars, where hydrocarbon fuels cannot be used due to absence of atmospheric oxygen and aircraft cannot be flown due to the atmospheres being negligible and too thin to provide lift, respectively. There are no roads on the Moon and Mars. Any trains built will not provide the safety of the hyperloop, because airlock failure will result in death. The vacuum tube can on the other hand be filled with air even on the Moon and Mars in case of any emergency.

The average DELAY for an airplane, falls in the RANGE of the average intercity time it takes to TRAVEL in the hyperloop... or between 31 and 59 minutes. From now on people should refer to Republicans who "want oil" in USA, as a terrorist group aiming to undermine high speed rail and hyperloop development, due to their criminal intent to keep hydrocarbon consumption artificially high. They are no different from Hezbollah or the Muslim Brotherhood, they are Christian fanatics who want to impose an archaic, unprofitable, economic model that enriches the few while engaging in structural genocide and hindering the creation of common good that can move humanity forward.

Hypersonic hyperloop using existing rocket technology for cargo transport is possible right now. Russia and China have both developed such solutions for missiles. Using this technology for cargo transport inside a vacuum tube where the cargo and the pod is magnetically levitated, would remove technological constraints of having to develop magnetic propulsion technology, that can move the pod using electricity only. This is because the magnetic levitation needs only to make the pod weightless as it would be in space on a friction-less track, and eliminating resistance by removing air from the tube. The possibility of the vehicle burning up in the tube, if it comes in contact with its frame or atmospheric air at hypersonic speeds of Mach 4 or higher is a bit risky, and could result in fatalities similar to that of air travel, if used for the purpose of moving human passengers.

I conceived the hyperloop system to beat conventional air travel marginally at speeds of 1,200+ km per hour so the vehicle inside it doesn't incinerate when power failure occurs. The speed constraint is immediately removed, if you use hypersonic missile technology, but I for one would have to see statistics that show at least the same level of safety as the airline industry before I'd ride it. Also at hypersonic velocities the system might need three additional vectors: top and sides, of magnetic cushion, to prevent the pod vehicles from being crashed into the tube by centripetal forces.

Another way to remove the speed constraints from conventional 300 mph magnetic levitation propulsion techniques which rely on coils being activated in sequence to move the vehicle along the length of the levitating track, is to use rail gun technology to launch the pods, not over several meters but over a longer distance to have lesser g-forces on the contents, human or cargo, and let the vehicle coast as it is magnetically levitated. This technology is already deployed by China and USA for military purposes.

Finally, the best solutions will probably incorporate hybrid or task dedicated systems with various parts and methodologies of propulsion, depending on the length of the interval of travel and pod's cargo. Paper mail for instance can care less about g-forces inside it and the rail gun technology does not need to concern itself with what happens inside the pod, nor it having breathable air, as long as it goes fast and gets to its destination in one piece. The same is not true for passenger hyperloop systems for humans.

The trip that people take is not limited in terms of time spent to the actual flight or ride. One has to plan the trip, shop for and purchase tickets, arrange transportation to the port of departure, then actually travel to that port and this endeavor can total many hours, sometimes as long or longer than the actual flight or ride, if we total the travel time from the port of destination to the final place where the trip ends along with time spent on the activities required to make the trip happen. Thus for instance a reduction in travel time as compared to road, rail or air travel by the use of hyperloop does not improve the entirety of the time spent on the trip. So even at hypersonic speeds, the hyperloop will stil involve all the elements required prior to getting into a pod. Let us say it takes 2 hours to get to and from a train station and 2 hours to travel between cities, and hyperloop cuts the train travel time to 20 minutes. The improvement on the train travel time is 6 fold, but the improvement on the entire trip is just by a factor of 1.71. This means that shorter local hops on the hyperloop systems will add even more time savings on the entire trip, because they can improve on this as well, therefore there exists the interest and drive for metropolitan subway hyperloop systems. Obviously, urban magnetic levitation systems have utilitarian value for the city itself, but as transport systems that bring hyperloop passengers to the point of departure, these will further reduce overall time spent on the trip.

Hyperloop pods unlike train cars can travel independenty. Let us consider a hyperloop solution  that augments the Long Island Rail Road. People going short distances between 1 to 7 stations could use the train in either direction which would proceed for the entire length of the track stopping everywhere. People using the Hyperloop, could go non stop between the first and last station, or some specified hyperloop stations in between that make it feasible. Let  us say there are five stations for the hyperloop:

Penn Station
Jamaica
Islip
Hampton Bays
Montauk

Five pods can be launched in sequence. 1st pod can go non-stop to the last station. 2nd pod to the next to last and so on. The pods that stop at intermediate stations can then pick up any passengers that want to go in the direction from Penn Station to Montauk, and therefore for each passenger the trip is one way and non stop, from the first station. The stations that don't have ticket holders waiting to get in or ticket holders down the line who are waiting to travel to them... can be simply skipped, and because of how fast the systems works, the wait time for the next set of pods is not an issue. The ticket holders for the subsequent stations, can be arranged into appropriate pods and these can be launched to distribute passengers as needed again. Repeating the process until all pods end up at Montauk, then are turned around for a return trip. In comparison, the train passengers would have to stop at intermediate stops slowing the whole process which decelerates and stops for all passengers, while the hyperloop system serves as a non stop start to end service for any station, and goes to any station in any direction.

“India needs to train circa 10 million people annually, but currently has the capacity to train just 4.5 million,”

https://www.rt.com/business/448633-india-surpass-us-standard-chartered/

Human capital needs major investment in India. Like GCC states which brought campuses of American Universities to their cities domestically, India needs to bring in European, Chinese and American Universities to its metropolitan areas to field the 10 million per year of degree holding professionals on annual basis, that its economy requires for optimal growth. Exporting its young to study abroad, can result in brain drain, costs lots of money, does not create domestic consumer spending and fails to build public-private-university partnerships within India which can be life long connections that push the Indian economy forward. India will be this world's largest economy, so it must have world class educated people who are familiar with the world's markets and speak their languages. What better way is there, than to bring the world's universities to the subcontinent?

Some words on national monuments, statues and other such things generating revenue for local economies. Besides being useful in cultivating ideology, preserving national identity, bringing attention to important historical events, inspiring or educating etc.

"Healthy economies don’t grow in that sort of simple-minded dependent way. They become increasingly sophisticated, taking in each other’s wash, that allows them to capture and hold the money that's being spent within the economy so that more income and more employment is generated by it."

"Is There Economic Value to That National Monument in Your Backyard?"
https://www.nationalparkstraveler.org/2010/03/there-economic-value-national-monument-your-backyard5531

Being that I've again mentioned Christ the King statue which I recommended to be build in Poland as a psychological operation and a tourist attraction, it'd be interesting to know if it has already paid for itself and now generates an income for the local economy. I know it paid off handsomely in the Catholic Church modernizing its dogma which had profound social implication across the world, but it is calculable and can become part of strategically deploying future such projects. These projects should do more than provoke thought and inspire, they should improve lives by creating economic ecosystems.

How does stealing a chord or a few musical notes from a copyrighted song to make a new song compare to stealing entire projects, ideas, business models and innovative thoughts from a person's mind? Well. For one, people don't copyright their thinking. Secondly, if their minds are connected in direct to brain communication, one can always claim that collaboration existed and the thoughts of the affected individual were never proprietary but instead a common good, and at the very least should be accredited to the number of individuals connected to one another when they came into existence.

Republicans have chosen the approach of perpetual lying libelous propaganda until they reach the desired effect, so for instance it was:

"four dead Americans"
"Clinton e-mails"
"Benghazi"

This was pursued repeatedly on all fronts until the desired effect: victory in Congress and the White House.

Americans, especially those reporting on Bloomberg, consistently attacked the Euro and the European Union since the inception of common currency, which is a competitor to Americans' own US dollar. For this they perpetually denigrated the Euro at every opportunity, defrauded Greece's entry into the common currency by cooking their books, then screamed for Grexit until investors got jittery. ECB none the less prevailed. Terms like PIGGS were used to describe countries of southern Europe for nearly two decades, a derogatory term that kept perpetually mocking their debt to GDP ratios. Americans own debt to GDP ratio is higher than that of Greece in 2008 during the financial crisis that American larceny, fraud, $50 billion dollar Pozi schemes like Madoff's, real estate speculation, and military adventurism in pursuit of oil interests has caused as all crooked chickens came host to roost.

Now we have the Brexit and Dexit narratives, backed by companies like Facebook and Cambridge Analytica, brainwashing millions against their own best interest to fight for an exit from the European Union or use it as a bargaining chip in domestic politics. Meanwhile Americans spied on all EU leaders with not ONE prosecution resulting from their decades long list of crimes and straight face denials by Obama and his administration. Trump, a US president, is a bankrupt fraud, whose lies are so convoluted that he contradicts himself like a paranoid, bipolar schizophrenic with a God complex each time he speaks or writes; his ignorance and lack of basic general knowledge earning him the nickname "moron" from his own Secretary of State.

Presently the crooks from Washington are trying their luck against China hoping to destroy the rising Chinese high tech industry by sanctions, fraud, libel and false incarceration. Americans used their Polish vassals after they've murdered their president, along with the Canadians after name calling and tariff sanctions to subdue them, to back their criminal attacks on Huawei, a company which happens to be a serious threat to Apple's business model. They did this to cast the company in a bad light internationally to undermine their sale, libeling it as a venue for Chinese government's espionage abroad. Bloomberg of the Grexit, Brexit, Dexit and PIGGS fame... ran a story no other news outlet covered independently and to which no major tech American company admitted, on how 'the big hack' happened to come from Huawei.

When is the EU going to start prosecuting American war criminals and crooks, start to sanction them and start putting their spies and fraudsters behind bars, instead of catering to the criminal American regime and playing into their hands by repeating their lies, libel and false claims?

Now the daughter of the assassinated Russian spy has second thoughts as to who killed him? It all comes around full circle. Doesn't it?

It all points to the lair of liars in Washington DC.

Consider the climate denying narrative of the Republican liars, versus an influx of new science reports from across the world, that constantly show anthropogenic global warming is far worse and more pronounced than previously thought, while the Trump White House backs out of the Paris Agreement and US increases its carbon emissions.

"Since 1970, the ocean has warmed 40 percent more than previous estimates, according to climate scientist Zeke Hausfather, one of the authors of the study.

The study examined four new or updated Ocean Heat Content records — a fancy term for measuring how warm the ocean is, taking into account deeper water, not just surface temperatures — and finds the ocean warming is significantly higher than estimated in the last comprehensive report by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2013."

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/oceans-are-warming-dramatically-faster-new-climate-study-warns/

Trump's most recent take: winter is still cold, it snows, so there is no global warming.

"In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!" - Trump

1. Any New Year's Eve could be the coldest on record.
2. All NYC low records are left in the distant past, not ONE was in 2000's
3. Claiming the most ridiculous things COULD happen isn't lying.
4. Trump's climate change denial evolved from lies he can be caught on, to manipulation.
5. He still can't help lying. He's a moron.
6. Can he name ONE country that hasn't addressed climate change and spent money on it?!
7. Trump now claims global warming is a boon to those living in cold areas.
8. At what point was the US going to spend TRILLIONS fighting climate change?
9. Why does Trump assume people can't afford heating and need to "bundle up"?

The American regime conducts mind surveillance, mass surveillance of all communications, hacking off all computing devices, it perpetrates a remote electromagnetic ghetto eugenics program which at least one victim reporter calls a "genocide" comparing it to Nazi practices.

Russia reciprocates. Dmitry Medvedev (a Russian president) has been known to carry out some ops for me, as did Vladimir Putin (4 times a Russian president), this through clandestine channels. Why would Russia not use the same technologies to reciprocate and positively influence myself or Trump? It's absurd to expect that they wouldn't. Besides, Obama basically implemented every idea I fielded to the US regime, so does that make him a traitor? Poland did too... many called me "the leader" as I if were Chairman Kim or Colonel Qaddafi or something.

This remains unaltered.

Americans and the British now face Asian adversaries with hyper-sonic missiles which they can't stop. These aren't inaccurate German V-2 rockets of the Second World War equipped with conventional war heads. These are nuclear weapons of mass destruction, held by countries that have been invaded, terrorized, imposed on, forced into drug addiction and otherwise wronged by both USA and UK over at least two centuries.

It is probably a good idea for Americans and the British to come to terms with the criminality of their regimes and reign them in, before nuclear warheads start raining on their heads.

"Russian media announced on Friday that it had significantly improved the stealth on its Su-57 fighter jet by applying a coating to the glass canopy on the cockpit, as well as similar upgrades to its Tu-160 nuclear bomber."

Refraction of diamonds or other such substances in the visible spectrum can break all incoming light to make the Su-57 planes nearly invisible in daylight, basically they'll appear as blurred, as no light will be reflected back to the source, if these particles cover the plane's surface. Other parts of the EM spectrum should be broken up as well, when they reflect dispersing incoming EM radiation around the plane.

Russia should use a coating of crushed "diamond like" particles that will disperse the em-spectrum which falls on the Su-57 aircraft. Cubic zirconia would probably work. The paint mix should have Germanium in it, as it can reflect in the infrared so heat seeking missiles don't 'see' the plane. Underneath this transparent reflective coat the paint should be black to make the plane invisible at night.

"Under natural conditions, the record highest refractive index is 4.05 for the element Germanium, but in the IR range only. It drops to lower values in the visible region and others."

https://www.quora.com/Which-medium-has-the-highest-refractive-index

The cockpit doesn't need to be glass. Cameras can be used to see through and around the plane via the pilot's helmet as augmented reality. The cockpit cover should:

- be as tough as the rest of the plane
- protect the cockpit against incoming bullets
- be at least of the same strength as other part of the plane
- make it difficult to kill the pilot with shrapnel or bullets
- be of the same radar, IR and visible light reflective properties as the rest of the plane

Finally, the plane doesn't need to be piloted at all. Autonomous fighter-strikers versions can be deployed, improving the planes' capabilities to include:

- kamikaze attacks
- maneuvers that pilots can't withstand due to g-forces
- extended range with multiple refueling, as pilots' biological needs for excretion, egestion, ingestion or sleep don't have to be met
- swarm tactics that can 'sacrifice' some machines to gain tactical advantage

Scotland's 5.4 million. Independent Scotland rejoining the EU would make this a net of 61 million gain for EU making up for the 61 million lost by UK leaving. It's a wash. If Northern Ireland unifies with Ireland, that is another 2 million. EU will have a gain of 63 million vs a loss of 59 million with Brexit, for the decade. A net gain of 4 million.

Absolutely right. The Polish vassals of the murderous sadistic Satanic American regime have cut down their national park forests to appease their genocidal overlords. Murdered for them in terrorist attacks like the one in Norway. Took blame for the Holocaust. And barked like dogs at Russia on their master's command. Then they welcomed Ukrainian Nazis who committed genocide against them, into the European Union. In return they got to stay out of the Eurozone and pretended their economy grew as their nominal GDP tied to their Satanic overlord 's whims remained stagnant for a decade. Not to mention that the crooked lying traitors sold out their own population so it is mind controlled, tortured and murdered by remote American mass surveillance, mind hacking and extrajudicial killing. Several points on global warming:

1. Global warming will continue regardless, if emissions are stopped.

2. Emissions are at record levels and continue to rise.

3. Oceanic acidity will stop rising, as saturation point is met.

4. Same level of emissions will cause fast atmospheric CO2 rise as the world ocean's carbon sink gets filled to maximum.

5. Ice cap melt will cause runaway global warming, heat the atmosphere alone to maximum level where a new point of equilibrium is reached between radiating heat into space and incoming solar heat, this based on existing levels of greenhouse warming gasses in the atmosphere or continually worse as feedback loop and human activity continue to add to the atmospheric thickness. Thicker atmosphere traps more heat. This event is unprecedented in Earth's history. As more water evaporates, more of it can be held in the atmosphere, so it will trap more heat. This is a feedback loop that may not stop at all...

6. Plant mass cover will burn releasing more carbon into the atmosphere with climate change.

7. Ice cover melt will continue to accelerate even at steady global energy related emissions.

8. Some areas already saw 8 degrees Centigrade and more of warming.

9. Oceanic acidity and polar caps are thresholds the passing of which, will greatly accelerate global warming of the atmosphere once they are reached. No science or historical precedent exists that can reliably predict what other feedback loops exist. Runaway global warming is already in effect. Carbon emissions will compound it. The final global temperature of the heated atmosphere is unknown, but calculable. Assume all ice melted and the ocean cannot absorb any more carbon dioxide while emissions continue at present level, then assume the ocean not longer is able to trap more heat as it surface temperatures get higher. What happens if all the energy that ice caps, permafrost and the ocean used to trap... is trapped in the atmosphere?

If we continue adding carbon to the atmosphere, we’ll very likely create an ice-free planet, with an average temperature of perhaps 80 degrees Fahrenheit instead of the current 58."

Average global temperature will be tropical. Ice will be gone. That's not a 2 degree rise... that's 12.2 global rise in temperature. As global temperature rises, more feedback loops may appear which were previously not happening.

Error margins are + or - this means the warming could be much greater. The landmass also absorbs heat, just consider the melting tundra... it melts, eh because it traps heat. All land does this, regardless WHERE it is on Earth. This is still unaccounted for in climate models.

Cryptocurrency mining has a global warming effect because it uses lots of energy. Energy efficiency in computing is thus a key issue. Many multinational, especially those whose business models are based on vast data centers, like Apple, Google, Amazon or Microsoft, have already committed to 100% renewable power for their businesses. Not so with Bitcoin, people get what they can from the grid, regardless where they are in the world. The promise of quantum computing has systematically held the scepter of all codes being cracked by highly efficient machines, if that's the case, then these quantum machines should be used for cryptocurrency mining to increase energy efficiency. Maybe cryptocurrency mining should be more environmentally conscious and combine mining hardware with solar PV installations?

https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/06/carbon-engineering-liquid-fuel-carbon-capture-neutral-science/

Producing hydrocarbons with the use of solar power, especially solar heat, captures some heat, captures come atmospheric CO2 and makes renewable fuel... anywhere on Earth. How lucrative this is, depends on whether hydrocarbons produced by mining will have a correct cost assigned to them for bringing about climate change disasters. However, in the long run, all hydrocarbon technologies that do not rely on landmass and can produce fuel from the atmosphere as resource, will be improved, existing hydrocarbons cannot be improved and will continue to be the more expensive option. Coal is already economically dead as a source for power production. Oil and gas are next.

This combined with carbon capture is can be deployed anywhere, as it only uses atmospheric resources and can run on solar power, available anywhere. In effect, this synergy of technologies can result in a capability to produce hydrocarbon products anywhere on Earth, where there is enough sunlight.

China doesn't need more Venezuelan oil.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-venezuela-oil/venezuela-oil-exports-to-china-slump-may-hit-lowest-in-nearly-8-years-sources-data-idUSKBN1JB0YI

USA is world's number 1 oil and gas producer and is energy self sufficient, which makes Venezuela's oil exports to US non-competitive; historically US was Venezuela's biggest customer.

Venezuela's socialist economic model relied on oil exports at $80 or so per barrel to balance their budget (so when prices went up to around $130, Chavez was revered), oil price that Venezuela now needs to balance its budget is $117.50 per barrel. The actual oil price hovers between $50 and $60, and there is continually dropping demand for Venezuelan oil. Venezuela is selling much less oil at a much lower price. This is unsustainable.

https://www.cnbc.com/2015/12/03/oil-prices-and-budgetsthe-opec-countries-most-at-risk.html

https://oilprice.com/

Venezuela instead of attempting to export oil, should use it for manufacture to create jobs and domestic consumption. It should stabilize its currency with the use of a cryptocurrency, as it has tried, but this currency must be universally available to Venezuelan merchants and consumers. From what I saw, the usage of such currencies is sparse. Venezuela should also diversify its economy and try to become self sufficient, by using its domestic resources for manufacture of all the goods that are needed, not sell resources like gold and oil off at a great disadvantage to then use the money to overpay for imports that are more expensive due to sanctions and businesses moving out of Venezuela.

Best comparison one can make is to Russia's sanctions on Polish apples. Apples could find another market, but it was difficult to do under the time constraint, because apples are a perishable product. Instead, apples were used to manufacture more durable food products like apple cider and baby formula. Which is what I advised Poland to do and the sanctions by Russia increased the Polish GDP as a result.

Venezuela can't sell the oil, but it can sell any product that can be made from oil which it can produce cheaper than competitors, make these products unique, so there is little competition, or use these products domestically which will eliminate the need for 'hard currency' to keep imports coming into the country. Self sufficiency under sanctions beats the sanctions.

Domestic Venezuelan gasoline prices are too low and are not good for the economy. Gasoline that is literally dirt cheap, does not create wealth, merchants don't produce much income from selling it, because all sales are a mark up on the price of the good sold, those who use the cheap gas for their business models do not create efficiencies, because their business models are not reflective of the REAL cost of the fossil fuel their businesses have to use.

But then all prices in Venezuela are out of whack due to hyperinflation, so the same is true of other products. Hyperinflation has to be curbed in. The Russians keep touting the gold standard. Maybe instead of exporting gold, Venezuela should back its cryptocurrency with the gold it mines and increase the currency value as the national gold reserve grows? Gold prices are relatively stable on the global market, a cryptocurrency tied to the value of gold reserves in the country would control the money supply with something that has undisputed value internationally. Oil fluctuates much more and it is a commodity that's much harder to sell.

1. US GDP growth is now again based on fossil fuels: no GDP growth, means no growth in emissions. Anthropogenic global warming climate change is an existential danger to life on Earth. The shutdown is better than any carbon tax at stopping emissions.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/15/us/politics/government-shutdown-economy.html

2. Border wall is existential for USA. Trump is right to hold out. Iran and Korea can both proliferate for money. Saudi Arabia which has already basically made arrangement to purchase nuclear weapons from Pakistan, is a terrorist state that sponsored the 9/11 attacks against USA. If it wants to blame Iran so it is obliterated with a retaliatory nuclear strike by USA, all it needs do is:

a.) buy a few nukes
b.) take out some democratic cities in USA
c.) blame Iran

This has been done before with airliners as weapons of mass destruction, the scale of the attack can be in kilotons, but tens or maybe hundreds of thousands will die. There will be complete authoritarian domination over the country in an unprecedented draconian regime crack down on all aspects of life in USA, it will make Patriot Act and The Authorization for Use of Military Force look like a joke. Saudi Arabia will look civilized and democratic by comparison.

3. If a nation state legitimately detonates nukes in a prompt, preemptive strike against USA without culpability due to a clandestine nature of the attack, it can cause a nuclear war. The attack may also be at many locations simultaneously, effectively culling the majority of the American population. The open border allows for this, as SUV's just ride across it with tons of drugs in them. Only hard border checkpoints can have Geiger counters which can detect fissile material in nuclear weapons. Some cities like NYC have deployed these across the city area, but they are not fool proof, they don't cover the whole city area, nor has this been done ubiquitously across USA.

4. Drug smuggling and gun smuggling fuel the drug war. It's a war. It requires a military solution. Why is the US Navy protecting shipping lanes in the Gulf of Aden, Yemen and Somalia from gun smuggling, drug smuggling and piracy, but cartels in Mexico and Columbia are free to cross the Gulf of Mexico and the US border to smuggle what they want, kidnap and kill including of 100's of Mexican politicians before elections?

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/11/29/upshot/fentanyl-drug-overdose-deaths.html

5. If Trump caves in on the wall, people will die. For each ton of heroin smuggled into the US, there is an associated percentage of people who will overdose, create a ton of medical debt or have funeral home costs. This is not the GDP US wants, this doesn't create wealth or value.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/25/health/nebraska-fentanyl-bust/index.html

6. If Trump doesn't cave on the wall and Democrats fund it, he will be able to blame them for the shutdown, since they could have funded the wall in the first place. Their funding of the wall can be portrayed as an admission that it is necessary to have one. This will be a political suicide to the Democrats, because they could have simply funded the wall to start with and no gov't shutdown would have resulted. Trump's political capital with his base will grow. His chances of reelection as an incumbent are 5:1 for the last 40 years worth of elections (Reagan 8, Clinton 8, Bush 8, Obama 8 vs G.H.W.Bush 4)
